Before signing up for one of our website care plans or hiring us to do a one-off job, we strongly urge you to read through this page (or at least skim the questions relevant to you) to avoid confusion or disappointment.
How do I pay?
PayPal handles our subscription payments. You make your first payment the day you sign up. After that, PayPal automatically takes the next payment on the same day each month until you cancel your subscription.
Payments for one-off jobs can be made by PayPal or direct transfer.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes, you can. Just send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know you want to cancel and we will remove the backup plugin from your site. We’ll put your account on hold, so you can reactivate it at any time.
Do you support more than one site per client?
Yes. Each of our plans supports one site, but you can sign up for as many plans as you like.
What’s included in the backup?
Everything – your website’s files, the database and all the content.
How do you backup my site?
We use a premium plugin called VaultPress. It’s an official plugin created by Automattic, the company that owns WordPress. Each plan includes a daily backup of your site, which VaultPress stores on its servers.
The option for real-time backups is available for sites/blogs publishing content throughout the day. If you need this type of cover, we can create a plan just for you.
How do you restore my site, should you need to?
In the unlikely case of disaster, we log into our VaultPress account via a browser and restore your site using the latest reliable backup. The time it takes to restore a site typically depends on the size of your website size. Small sites usually take a few minutes to restore. Larger sites take a little longer.
Could I setup VaultPress myself?
Do I have to pay an extra $5 if you manage my site?
No. We incorporate the VaultPress charge into our fee.
Do you work with all types of site?
No. At the moment, we only work with smaller sites. We don’t offer any of our services to eCommerce or membership sites. We hope this changes in the future.
What type of work is included in the maintenance plans?
Mostly front-end development. Things like adding pictures, changing font size or colours, adding links, installing and configuring plugins, checking for broken links, adding content to the footer or sidebars, removing plugins, setting up themes.
What type of work isn’t included in the maintenance plans?
Do you accept all work?
No. If we think the task you’re asking us to do beyond our skill set, we’ll tell you we’re unable to help. We won’t try bodging our way through the work. Your website is important and we don’t want to mess it up.
We reserve the right to refuse any type of work at our discretion. If you’ve already paid, we’ll issue a refund.
Can you build a website for me?
Maybe. Send an email outlining your idea and requirements to email@example.com and we’ll consider your request.
Do you outsource the work to people from around the world?
No. We’re just starting this service, so all work is done in-house by Stephen or Carole.
